hey there lovelies and a very happy wednesday to you, wherever you may be. today i am interviewing the lovely nicky of healthful hands and asking her what inspires you?
1. Tell us a little something about you and what you do.
I am a trained adviser who provides ongoing support and guidance for my clients as they set goals and make sustainable changes that improve health and happiness.
I work with ladies aged between 30-65 who are overworked, overwhelmed and sick and tired of the ever changing diet trap.
Together we start a journey to find the right path for them in eating healthily an finding exercise they love. We create a safe and loving space to explore the underlying emotions and get to the heart of what is getting in the way of living a life full of sparkle.
2. Was there a turning point in your life that made you seek out inspiration and self growth learning opportunities?
Yes, I had to get out of a toxic relationship and begin my life as a single parent. I took on a Health Coach who I spent over a year working with to get myself back on track and to learn to love myself and heal. It was under her guidance that I decided to train as a Health Coach myself so I could help women just like me become happier and comfortable with who they are.
3. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Everything! I love nature, wildlife, plants and trees. I find being in a calm and natural environment helps keep me grounded and allows me to grow.
4. What is your favourite source of inspiration? The source/ritual you return to over and over again to find solace, comfort and re-fill your well.
Spending time growing vegetables. I come from a long line of allotment holders so growing veggies is part of me. When I am feeling stressed or in need of solace I go into my greenhouse and I plant seeds. Just getting my hands in the soil brings instant comfort.
5. What do your daily practices look like? Do you have any set routines or rituals you pretty much always follow?
I practice early morning Journal Writing (influenced by Julia Cameron – The Artists Way) it helps clear my head of all the mind clutter and means I start the day super focused.
6. What would be your top tips for:
Finding inspiration – Sit in silence and listen to the sounds around you.
Keeping inspired – Keep learning – it’s a powerful habit to have.
Raising your spirit – Find your comfort space, be it a library or a friend’s shoulder but go there often
Staying positive – Practice gratitude, list 3 things each day you are truly thankful for.
Anything else you have found invaluable – Learn to love yourself before others. Being happy and content comes from within and you need this to be able to love in abundance.
